Ruined M220
« on: June 26, 2015, 02:03:40 PM »
Yesterday on Gunbroker there was a M220 listed for bid.  It was a hard to find model with a factory installed "Poly Choke" and recoil pad.  At some point in time the recoil pad had been removed and the gun painted all over (wood and metal) with camouflage paint!

Years ago I purchased an 1894 Winchester carbine that someone had spilled white paint on.  I used regular paint remover and it got all the paint off the metal without hurting the finish under it.  But, this one would be a job to do, and then on a gun that old, the finish under the paint may already be gone.

And the worse the finish was when he painted it, the harder the paint will be to remove!
