Stevens Model 94 series 28 gauge age
« on: July 07, 2024, 03:26:15 PM »
Does anyone here know the years that Stevens made the model 94 c etc. in 28 gauge. I don’t see it listed in 28 in gun digests for the early 50s or late 60s on. Could anyone substantiate the years the 28 gauge was advertised for sale I would really appreciate the information.

Thanks

Cleetus, a 28 gauge is not listed in the 1952 Savage/Stevens catalog, but is listed in the 1953.  In 1954 it is listed with a whole sale price of $18.80.  As I have time I will check my other catalogs and post contents of the 94 model.  Good to hear from you again!

Cleetus, I have looked through my catalogs and am missing a few, but as best I can tell, the 94 was made in 28 gauge from 1955 thru 1961.  In 1962, the 94 was no longer listed but replaced with the 940, which was offered in 28 ga.

Thanks Garnett

I answered my question by buying a Stevens 94C 28 gauge.

The stamp on the right side of the receiver in the small circle is 4F and would make it a 1954 gun.

It is in very nice shape for a 70 year old gun.
I’ll post a picture or two later.
