Info on Savage 220 D 16 guage
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:54:16 AM »
I am a gun dealer, and a customer/friend of mine is inheriting a Savage 220 D. 16 gauge in what he calls "Good" condition. The problem is the gun is in Oregon, and he is in Illinois.  He was wondering what it is worth, and is it worth shipping back to Illinois.  I have not seen any pictures and do not know any more information at this time.

My knowledge on the old Savage guns is very limited.  Any information would be appreciated

Thanks

Garnett

In my personal opinion, the gun is worth shipping.  It could be worth anywhere from $100 if in safe shooting condition to several hundred, again, depending on condition and whether or not it has any non standard features, like engraving, factory poly choke, longer than standard barrel.  Then as a last resort,  if it is in poor condition, it could be broken up for parts.  The internal parts alone, could bring $100 or more on Ebay.  Please post pictures if you get any.  I hope this helps some.  Best wishes, Garnett

Thanks for the info.  He is shipping it to me.  I'll post pictures when I get it.
