Savage rifle scope
« on: January 14, 2022, 02:13:42 PM »
I happened to see this on a major auction site and put in a $30 bid, not really caring if I won or not but it went for that and this little cutie arrived today in very nice condition, cannot be very old at all!  looking through it, it was nice, bright and clear  but something was odd!  I eventually realized the reticle was about 45 degrees off of the vertical!  I contacted the seller and they said they had no idea about rifle scope, refunded my money and told me to keep it!  So, a cute and free Savage riflescope!

That was very good of the seller.  I briefly describe some of the Savage scopes in Chapter 19 of my book on the 219/220 Hammerless guns.  So far I have only found 3 different ones, all made in Japan.

Garnett, looks like there is a later version of your book than I have, mine is 2017 and 305 pages.

Yes, I printed an updated and enlarged edition in January of 2021.  Thanks for mentioning this.
