Utica 219, 30-30 win
« on: January 25, 2015, 07:11:20 PM »
Hi all, new to forum. I have a couple of Model 219's of which one is a utica gun (striker fired). It inconsistently misfires. I have completely disassembled, cleaned, polished rough spots and still suffer from misfires. There is a definitive difference in the striker sound with the misfires.  I have thought about replacing the striker assembly with one from GunParts Corp. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

This is really strange.  I have no idea what may be causing your problem, but maybe someone can help.  The striker assembly is not very expensive from GPC, and I would try that if it were my gun.  Please keep us posted.  Best wishes, Garnett

I did not know Wolfe had mainsprings.  Thanks for sharing that with us.  I have always heard good things said about the Wolfe springs for other guns.

Yeah, that's very good to know, given the dearth of 210/220 parts out there.  Now we need a source of new firing pins and forearms irons!

When  I last looked, Numrich still had the stricker assembly for the early guns and regular type firing pins for the later ones.  They may be sold out.

I ordered a list of parts for the early 219 yesterday from GunParts of which one was a striker assembly, 24.95 i believe. I received a confirmation email last night that indicated they would ship so i assume they are still in stock

Haven't recievd parts ordered from gun parts, but fixed the misfire issue. The bridge that the striker slides through was not squared. after a few measurements i cranked up the milling machine made a new one. after some polishing and final fitting, re=assembled and fired 40 rounds without a misfire. The firing pin strikes were almmost dead center.
