Factory Cut-A-Way Model 220 Action
« on: March 05, 2017, 12:36:34 PM »
I was lucky to find this cut-a-way M220 (B or later) action.  It is missing some minor parts, dirty and needs to be disassembled and cleaned.  Also, who ever put it together last, assembled it incorrectly, and it would not fire as is.  No factory markings other than an assembly number.  Over the years these photos disappeared.  I have re-posted them as I think they are important in the evolution  of the 219-220 action from striker fired to internal hammer fired.

Here are some pictures after it was cleaned good.  I also installed the proper trigger guard.

I like nothing better than to see a good old gun returned from the edge of the grave!  Lookin' good!

Thanks Mike!  I feel lucky to have found this one.  After a careful study by my gunsmith, I believe this to be a factory prototype.  It is an original 219/220 action modified from a striker system to the M219/220B hammer system.  I believe it to be very rare.
